Position: Business Analyst with Trade Surveillance
On Site position in New York.
We are seeking a detail-oriented and analytical Business Analyst with expertise in Trade Surveillance to join our team. The ideal candidate will bridge the gap between business and technology by analyzing trade data, identifying suspicious activities, and supporting the implementation of surveillance solutions to ensure regulatory compliance.
Key Responsibilities:
Gather, analyze, and document business requirements related to trade surveillance systems and processes.
Collaborate with compliance, legal, and trading teams to understand surveillance needs and regulatory obligations.
Analyze trade and transaction data to detect patterns, anomalies, and potential compliance risks.
Work closely with technology teams to design, test, and implement surveillance tools and enhancements.
Develop and maintain dashboards, reports, and alerts to support proactive trade monitoring.
Conduct root cause analysis of flagged transactions and recommend process improvements.
Stay updated with regulatory changes impacting trade surveillance and compliance.
Support audit and regulatory reviews by providing necessary documentation and data.
Facilitate training and knowledge transfer sessions with business and technical stakeholders.
Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree in Finance, Business, Economics, Computer Science, or related field.
3+ years of experience as a Business Analyst, preferably within trade surveillance, compliance, or financial services.
Strong understanding of trade surveillance concepts, market abuse regulations (e.g., MiFID II, SEC, FINRA).
Experience with trade surveillance platforms (e.g., NICE Actimize, Nasdaq SMARTS, or similar).
Proficiency in data analysis tools and techniques (SQL, Excel, Tableau, Python is a plus).
Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.
Detail-oriented with strong problem-solving capabilities.
Ability to work in a fast-paced, regulated environment.
Preferred Skills:
Knowledge of trading systems and workflows.
Experience in documenting functional and technical specifications.
Familiarity with risk management and compliance frameworks.
