Position Summary

The Manager of Resource Development & Startup manages and deploys the motor carrier contractors. This position negotiates the carrier rates and also handles day to day escalations. This position requires experience with being a liaison with local clients. This position provides vision and leadership in long-range planning to ensure the continuity of the company. This position requires proven ability to cope with conflict, stress and crisis situations through effective problem-solving and mediation skills.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

The essential functions include, but are not limited to the following:

• Manage the full scope of Resource Development
• Deploy and manage the motor carriers for the Resource Account and Development
• Liaison with local clients and manage multiple locations
• Handle weekly carrier settlements
• Resolve escalations from the clients in a timely manner and professionally to ensure the client’s satisfaction
• Actively recruit new motor carrier teams and negotiate the carrier rates.
• Develop forms, tools, reporting, and processes to increase company efficiency and risk management
• Develop Company Processes for new accounts
• Oversee Operations converting to a dedicated client
• Providing vision regarding overall success and health of the company
• Carrying out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with the organization’s policies and applicable laws
• Effectively managing thorough clear, direct, consistent, and respectful communication
• Establishing organizational goals and objectives
• Fostering a success-oriented, accountable environment within the Company
• Responsible for oversight of Assistant Managers
• Responsible weekly invoicing and settlements
• Performing other duties as assigned
• Travel requirement: 40-60%

Minimum Qualifications (Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities)

• Must have a college degree or equivalent experience
• Minimum 3 or more years in logistics management
• Account management of greater than 10 million dollars
• P&L experience
• Minimum 2 years of liaison experience with clients
• Minimum 2 years of operations experience
• Minimum 1 year of contract motor carriers management
• Proficient in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint) and other computer software
• Ability to inspire and motivate others to perform well, and accept feedback from others; delegate work assignments, give authority to work independently, set expectations, and monitor delegated activities
• Comprehensive knowledge of industry and industry-related trends and forecasts
• Ability to identify and resolve problems in a timely manner as well as skillfully gather and analyze information
• Speak clearly and persuasively in positive or negative situations
• Willingness to explore ways to improve and promote quality; demonstrate accuracy and thoroughness; and maintain compliance with legal and regulatory aspects
• Observe safety and security procedures and use equipment and materials properly.
• Ability to multi-task and work in a fast-paced office setting
• Understanding of how to develop and implement business strategies through knowledge of company history, culture, identity and goals
• Preferred Qualifications (Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities)
• 3 or more years in the last mile delivery
• Knowledge of appliances and furniture assembly and delivery is a plus
• Experience in a start up organization is a plus
