Job Title: X-Ray Technician (0–2 Years Experience) – Contract
Location: Astoria, NY 11102
Hours: 37.5 hours/week | 7.5 hours/day | Monday–Friday
Shift Options: 8:00 AM – 4:30 PM or 4:00 PM – 11:30 PM
Pay Rate: $55 - $60 per hour
Job Summary:
We are seeking a dedicated X-Ray Technologist to operate and oversee radiologic and imaging equipment to produce diagnostic images. The role includes preparing patients for procedures, ensuring safety compliance, and maintaining high-quality imaging standards.
Key Responsibilities:
Greet patients, establish rapport, and explain procedures to ensure comfort and cooperation.
Prepare patients for radiologic procedures by positioning, adjusting equipment, and applying immobilization devices as needed.
Minimize radiation exposure to patients and staff through proper safety techniques, shielding, and beam restriction.
Follow infection control policies and maintain a safe, clean work environment.
Produce high-quality radiographs by adhering to established protocols and making necessary adjustments.
Document patient care and verify exam completion in department records.
Perform equipment troubleshooting, preventive maintenance, and coordinate repairs when necessary.
Maintain adequate inventory of radiology supplies.
Participate in continuing education and professional development activities.
Contribute to team objectives and perform other duties as assigned.
Required Skills & Qualifications:
0–2 years of experience in radiologic technology (no prior experience required).
Licensed Radiologic Technologist (L.R.T.) by the New York State Department of Health.
American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT) Certification.
Graduate of an AMA-approved School of Radiologic Technology.
